What Attracts a Man!

Good Looking Guy - How to keep a guySingle women are always looking for great dating tips on how to how to keep a guy. As a Matchmaker & Dating Coach, women always ask me the same thing, “what attracts a man?”

Having been in the dating & relationship business for years, I’ve researched and interviewed a lot of single men, and here is the general consensus among men.

What Attracts a Man:

  •  Take the initiative, but don’t be overly aggressive

Men are always expected to make the first move, which is nerve racking to them.  If you see a guy you are interested in, approach him, he’ll be flattered.  But don’t be overly aggressive…you’ll scare him away.

  •  Use eye contact

Remember when a guy gave you a look that just made you melt?  Give a guy those same sexy glances, and you’ll have him in the palm of your hand.  Just remember, it’s impolite to stare.

  •  Smile!

This is so simple, but you would be surprised at how many women don’t use their pearly whites.  Men like to be around a woman who is happy and lively, not someone who is sad and mundane.

  •  Give him your full attention when you are in a conversation

Listen to what he is saying and make eye contact.  Don’t let your eyes wander around.  If you are looking elsewhere while he’s talking, he will think you are looking at every other guy in the bar.

  • When talking to him, do look into his eyes and every so often glance down at his lips

This will show him you are attracted to him.

  •  Show interest in what he does and what he likes to do

Talk about yourself and what you like to do, but don’t make the conversation one-sided.  Men love to talk about themselves and what they like to do, so show genuine interest in him and his interests.

  •  Be able to hold an intelligent conversation

Be able to talk about current issues and not just superficial issues.

  •  Laugh at his jokes

Plain and simple, everyone’s a comedian and no one likes to tell a joke and not get a laugh.  So, laugh even if the joke isn’t funny.

  • Stroke his ego

Men are just like women, they love compliments.  Don’t go overboard, be sincere.

  •  Be a “Giver” more than a “Taker”

Don’t expect him to take you out and do nice things for you all the time.  It’s not all about you, men also like to be treated nice.

  •  Be independent and decisive

Don’t always look to him to help you out and make decisions for you.  Men love a woman who can hold her own.

  •  Be secure with yourself

Insecurity is a complete turn-off.  Constantly asking whether you look fat in something or constantly checking yourself in the mirror shows your insecurity.  Know who you are and be comfortable with yourself.

  •  Have your own interests

It’s great for a man to meet a woman who shares his same interests, but not to the point where his life becomes her life. Give him his space to hang out with his buddies and do his own thing, it will make him appreciate the time he spends with you much more.

  • Do nice things for him, but don’t go overboard

It’s nice to show him you are thinking about him, by doing nice things for him.  But don’t go overboard after a few dates.  If you go over to his home and do his laundry, clean his place or just show up at his work to bring him lunch, he’ll run away faster than fast.

  •  Be a good cook

While this may sound very traditional, the truth of the matter is men love a woman who can cook. A home cooked meal to a man is a treat.  But, don’t cook dinner for him too soon, he’ll think you’re already playing house.

Now, you know how to keep a guy wanting more…..
